April Venue of the Month: Brown’s Hotel

Theodore Roosevelt spent the night before his wedding at Brown’s Hotel, and you can still see a copy of the marriage certificate on display in the Mayfair hotel. The American president isn’t the only famous face to hold their nuptials here.

In 1948, Christopher Robin, son of the celebrated Britsh author who gave us the much-loved bear, Winnie-the-Pooh, held his wedding reception at Brown’s. AA Milne himself was a regular visitor at Brown’s and threw a lavish party there, six years later, for his friends and family.

Regarded as a centre for London society, Brown’s Hotel has hosted Queen Victoria for tea, and you can enjoy a pleasant walk from the hotel through Green Park to the royal residence at Buckingham Palace.
The Brown’s we see today has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, fostered by the Forte family. Olga Polizzi’s stylish interiors combine a playful attitude with a respect for heritage, exemplified in the new Sir Paul Smith Suite – the only hotel suite in the world by the renowned British designer.

The Wedding Party:
Brown’s Hotel is one of London’s most enchanting wedding venues for indulgence, romance and intimacy. Couples have three beautiful reception rooms to consider, from an intimate dining room for ten or a lavish wedding party for up to 120 guests.

Several rooms offer splendid views over Mayfair’s streets and are a showcase of elegant chandeliers suspended from high ceilings. All rooms offer a glamorous setting, dressed to suit the couple’s requirements.

A dedicated wedding specialist will enlist the best florists, designers and DJs, and they can even suggest menus by Michelin-starred chef Adam Byatt and his team at Charlie’s. It’s all part of the experience at Brown’s, a quintessentailly British wedding venue with a modern twist.
