An elegantly stylish wedding at Old Marylebone Town Hall
How to make the most of your wedding day at Old Marylebone Town Hall
Old Marylebone Town Hall is one of London’s most iconic wedding venues. The famous lions, the stunning alcoves, the exquisite staircase… It’s where rock stars get married, and lifelong Londoners say their vows.
And As a wedding photographer, it is an absolute dream to photograph but there’s so much more to getting married here than just a quick “I do” and a handful of photo ops. There’s a whole story to be told, and a vibrant city on your doorstep.
So, I thought I’d help you make the most of this incredible venue.
Here’s Kylie and Sean’s elegantly stylish wedding at Old Marylebone Town Hall - with tons of ideas to get you inspired, and every step of their journey along the way.
The best way to start your wedding day
Kylie hired a beautiful townhouse for her morning prep, just a stone's throw away from Old Marylebone Town Hall and it helped make her morning extra special. Those intimate moments with her friends and family, the beautiful rooms, the gorgeous light…
The ‘getting ready’ part of the day is so often overlooked, especially with London elopements. And I loved that Kylie dedicated a few hours to her loved ones before the day began.
We had ‘first looks’ with her parents, and a few final finishing touches to her look. And With the ceremony calling, we headed out onto the London streets and made our way to the Town Hall.
Those moments ‘before…’
A little while later, Kylie and Sean opened those huge front doors and were greeted with a shower of confetti.
We had family photos on the iconic steps, backdropped by dramatic pillars of the Town Hall. And As the guests mingled in the sunshine, I snuck K&S into one of the alcoves for some couple’s shots and oh my, *that* alcove!
The peaceful solitude, just a few yards away from the bustling streets. The symmetry, the light…and as you come down the steps, the lions lay patiently on the white stone walls.
It’s such a special corner of the city, and an experience you’ll never forget. Newly married, wrapped up in love and sharing a few moments alone in that famous little nook.
Exploring the streets of London
If you’re having an elopement in London, taking a little stroll through the city is an absolute must! After all, you’re in the heart of one of the most photogenic, exciting, eclectic cities in the world. You’d be crazy not to make the most of it!
We said our farewells to the guests (and the lions), and jumped in the Savoy car to Park Crescent.
Kylie and Sean walked hand-in-hand along the beautiful terrace. They hugged, and kissed, and chatted about their day. The cream curve of Park Crescent glowed in the afternoon sun, and white clouds dotted the winter sky.
Our day ended at The Savoy
Kylie and Sean had dinner with their guests at The Savoy.
The food was delicious (of course!); the backdrop was timelessly stylish in the most fabulously opulent way!
It was intimate. Just a handful of their favourite people gathered in this beautiful space to celebrate them.
K&S ended their night at The Savoy bar, where friends from all across London had come to join them. Cocktails flowed, the cake was demolished and ‘just married’ kisses were stolen in that cosy dark room.
